DescriptionGenoRobotics was founded by Nicolas Adam (expertise in microengineering and biodiversity monitoring technologies) and Michela Dall'Angelo (PhD in Computational Biology, UNIL; strong expertise in lab experimentsand data analysis).
Biodiversity is rapidly declining, yet our ability to monitor and understand it remains limited, with species extinction outpacing discovery. Traditional methods for plant identification are time-consuming, season-dependent, and require expert scientists, while existing DNA-based solutions are often expensive and restricted to specialized laboratories, creating barriers to effective conservation and restoration efforts.
GenoRobotics provides a field-deployable plant DNA kit combining microneedle extraction and isothermal amplification with portable Oxford Nanopore sequencing technology, paired with a curated bioinformatics workflow. Their end-to-end solution enables real-time, on-site species identification at lower cost with minimal training, replacing slow, lab-dependent workflows with a simple, fast, cost-effective, and reproducible pipeline accessible to any field team.
